Transfer aids
Manage transfers in a way that preserves strength and protects joints
Wheelchair users need to perform several transfers a day – whether from bed into the wheelchair or from the wheelchair onto the toilet or into the car.
In order for these transfers to take place in a way that preserves strength and protects joints to the greatest degree possible, there are various aids that support and make things easier for wheelchair users and their helpers.
Brief description of products
Transfer boards
For flexible transfersAs the name says, the transfer board is used for transfers, e.g. from the edge of the bed to the wheelchair, to the toilet or to the car seat. The extremely smooth surface minimises friction and makes the transfer considerably easier.
Patient hoist, patient lifter
The solution for light to heavy transfersThe mobile patient hoist allows helpers to transfer patients who require care without using a great deal of strength. The patient hoist is used for transfers from the bed to the wheelchair, the toilet or the shower chair. The lifting straps come in different sizes and strengths, which makes an individual selection possible. The rollers can be used to push the patient.
Various transfer aids
Sliding pad, turning aids, cushionsSliding pads and cushions made from low friction material make a wide range of transfers easier, e.g. from the bed into the wheelchair, from the wheelchair into the car, etc. Sliding pads come in various sizes with padded and unpadded material.
Turning aids include, on the one hand, a turntable that you stand on for the transfer. On the other hand, there is the swivel cushion, which is mainly suitable for car transfers. After placing the cushion on the car seat, the user can swivel from the side to the front using little strength after the transfer. When getting out, the swivel cushion makes it easy to swivel back to the side to allow the transfer back into the wheelchair to be carried out.
