Special wheelchairs

Care wheelchairs are a sub-group of special wheelchairs. They have variable seating and positioning adjustment options, generally with significant seat tilt, which allow transport in a semi-lying position. They are used for wheelchair users with multiple severe disabilities and elderly people who require care and aim to make the care procedure as easy as possible. The good padding and the many adjustment options mean that patient can use the wheelchair for a long period of time without problems. Stand-up wheelchairs also come under the category of special wheelchairs. They are helpful at work when a user needs to be able to reach high shelves or operate a machine, but also enable straightforward participation in day-to-day activities with family, friends and colleagues.
