First aid courses for companies
Accidents at work are part of everyday life. In Switzerland alone, there were over 260,000 accidents in the workplace in 2020. Unfortunately, these are often serious. Staff trained in first aid help to gain important time between the emergency and treatment and thus have a positive influence on the outcome. Find out more about what SIRMED can offer to prepare your staff for an emergency.

First aid in companies is mandatory
In Switzerland, companies are obliged to regulate the handling of emergency situations in the company in accordance with Article 36 of the "Guidelines to Ordinance 3 to the Labor Act".
The recommendations are indicative and are intended to increase understanding of their implementation. The overarching aim of the provision is to provide employees with the best possible care in the event of an emergency at the workplace. If possible, first responders should be at the scene of an accident within three minutes.

Extract from Article 36 of the 3rd Ordinance to the Labor Act:
1 The necessary resources for first aid must always be available in accordance with the operational hazards, size and local situation of the establishment. The first aid equipment must be easily accessible and kept wherever the working conditions require it.
2 If necessary, appropriately located and equipped first-aid rooms and personnel trained in first-aid services (company paramedics) must be available. The first-aid rooms must be easily accessible with stretchers.
3 The first-aid rooms and the storage areas for the first-aid equipment must be clearly marked.
Certification of the training courses - adequate training
The Emergency response officers must be IVR-certified or meet the requirements of the IVR, depending on the requirements. The risks of the company must be considered. In addition to basic training, regular refresher trainings must be organized. The IVR courses along a level system adhere to the ERC guidelines on resuscitation.
