Registration and contact
Registration
You registration is completed by your general practitioner or the doctor in charge of your care. The advantage of being registered by your doctor is that we are able to obtain precise information regarding any accompanying diseases and the examinations and treatments you have already undergone. Once you are admitted, your doctor is not only informed of your progress, but also included in all further treatment decisions.
Upon receiving your registration and corresponding documents (medical reports, x-ray results, etc.), we will ask you to complete a pain questionnaire. Once the questionnaire is completed and analysed at our centre, you will be given an appointment for an outpatient examination.
If you have a general practitioner-based insurance policy, then it is mandatory that you be registered by your GP.

Initial contact
The first step to gaining admission to the Centre for Pain Medicine is always via an interview (the so-called “initial discussion”) or a team consultation. These meetings allow us to get an idea of your medical history: What kind of pain are you experiencing? Which treatments have you already received? Is there anything else we should know? We will then outline the next steps of your therapy.
Your point of contact
The Secretarial Office at the Centre for Pain Medicine is the initial contact point for patient inquiries, and attends to all organisational and administrative matters.
