Training and Congresses
Since 1999, the Centre for Pain Medicine Nottwil has organised regular international, national and regional congresses, workshops as well as training and continuing education events. In addition, numerous colleagues who work in interdisciplinary areas have made the most of the opportunity to undertake practical further training (shadowing) in our clinic. Regular pain conferences and congresses with our immediate partners (GPs and specialists, referrers and funding bodies) complete these activities.
Pain Psychotherapy, 2-day course (18 hours) 1 & 2 September 2023
Run by the Pain Psychology Special Interest Group (SIG) of the Swiss Pain Society, the 18-hour psychology module that counts towards the “Specialist in Pain SPS” title will be held for the second time in Nottwil on 1 and 2 September 2023. It is aimed at specialists working in the field of psychotherapy and psychiatry and can also be attended as a 2-day further training event in the field of pain independently of the 80-hour course (and independently of the “Specialist in Pain SPS” title). The further training course is application-focused and aimed at practitioners in institutions and in practices. Communication, pain psychology as part of the biopsychosocial model, and selected pain psychotherapy procedures are presented using an interdisciplinary approach and provide course participants with in-depth preparation for the purposeful and effective treatment of people affected by chronic pain.
