Loading a wheelchair
Loading options for almost any situation
There are various options for loading a heavy wheelchair, scooter or Swiss-Trac, for example by going through the side door into the passenger compartment by means of a cable hoist or putting it into the boot by means of a boot hoist.
Our solutions
Telescopic door
The telescopic door makes it easy to load a folding wheelchair into a five-door car. The driver unlocks the left rear door manually and opens it about 30 degrees. Then the door can be pushed backwards electrically by 35 centimetres. This creates enough space between the door post and the door to slide in the folded wheelchair. The window can no longer be opened after the refit, but the door can also be open and closed conventionally.
Swivel door
The left rear door is modified so that it opens/slides in parallel to the vehicle fully automatically at the push of a button. A sufficiently large space is created between the door post and the door to allow a folded wheelchair to be loaded. In some vehicles a sufficiently large opening can be created for a fixed-frame wheelchair to be loaded. The construction means that the door can no longer be opened conventionally. The window can be operated in the same way as previously.
Cable hoist
When the door is open, the folded wheelchair is pulled into the driver's seat using an electric cable hoist. The wheelchair is guided by hand in the process.
Wheelchair guidance system
As a complement to the cable hoist, a specially produced guidance system makes loading and unloading the wheelchair easier and stabilises it when driving. Guiding the wheelchair becomes almost completely unnecessary during loading.
Loading device
A lifting arm is used to pull the wheelchair electrically to where the rear seats would have been. The wheelchair is automatically guided during loading.
Ladeboy
With this system, the wheelchair can be loaded or unloaded without requiring any strength. The device can be used universally, for folding wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs weighing up to 50 kilograms.
Boot hoist
This system can be used to effortlessly load wheelchairs or other heavy devices, such as a Swiss-Trac, into the car boot. Depending on the model, loads from 30 to 200 kg can be loaded.
Wheelchair loading platform
Scooters, electric mobility devices and wheelchairs are driven onto the platform and then loaded into the car electrically at the push of a button.
Automatic boot lid opener
The boot lid is opened and closed pneumatically or electrically. This system is equipped with either a switch or a remote control.
